“Foxy Pearl Jewelry” was an unexpected name for this blog. Anyone who knows me is aware of my passion for pearls. What not so many people might know is that I am a Jimi Hendrix fan and had the “Foxy Lady” song buzzing in my head when the idea was born. Now, you might not associate pearls with the rock n’ roll legend, but I sure did. In fact, that is what this blog is all about! Thinking of jewelry in a revolutionary way and trying to experiment with it while having fun in the process.
Instead of worrying about what is popular or trending, we should focus on developing our own sense of style, realizing that when it comes to jewelry there are no rules – only preferences.
Jewelry is a form of art, and just like any art, it represents the emotion. It is precisely that emotional aspect that interests me the most about jewelry. Jewelry is also able to tell stories and can reveal a lot about its makers, time periods, and cultures it comes from. As an avid traveler and someone who has lived in different parts of the world, I have grown to appreciate the cultural aspect of jewelry.
The reason I decided to start this blog is to break away from the conformist fashion agenda of popularity and consumerism. I want to touch on more than just the mainstream jewelry and encourage people to acknowledge their uniqueness and inner sense of style. As Yves Saint Laurent put it: “Fashions fade, style is eternal.”
Foxy Pearl Jewelry is here is to inspire, educate, share, and celebrate! I look forward to talking about inspiring jewelry, passing on the knowledge I have acquired along the way and will continue acquiring, sharing my discoveries, and celebrating talent within the industry. Additionally, my goal is to keep you informed on deals, wholesalers, trade shows, events, and more.
Apart from jewelry, I also have endless love for travel and adventure. My other passions include music, books, writing (obviously), running, wine, languages, arts, jumpsuits, scarves, dresses with pockets, high waist pants, and padded shoulders. Oh, and chocolate is life!
